A Tropical Sunset Wedding at Sunken Gardens
There’s something magical about Sunken Gardens in St. Petersburg — the lush greenery, vibrant blooms, and that feeling of stepping into another world. When Halee and Brad told me their vision for a wedding inspired by tropical sunsets and vintage details, I knew it was going to be something special.
From the moment I arrived, the air felt warm and easy, the gardens glowing in soft evening light. The color palette was inspired by sunsets — golden oranges, pinks, and corals that felt alive against the lush greenery of the venue. Every detail carried a sense of intention and joy, and it all fit them perfectly.
The Setting: Sunken Gardens, St. Petersburg
If you’ve ever been to Sunken Gardens, you know how magical it feels — like stepping into a tropical paradise right in the middle of the city. The winding paths, the towering palms, and the way the light filters through the leaves created such a romantic atmosphere for their day.
Halee and Brad wanted their wedding to feel like a tropical sunset with vintage charm, and that vision came through in every detail. Patchwork Floral brought it all to life with colorful, textural arrangements filled with blooms in every shade of coral and peach.
At cocktail hour, guests sipped fresh coconuts from Ami Coconuts, a fun nod to the couple’s love for travel and beachy vibes. Everywhere you turned, something about the day made people smile.
The Heart of the Day
One of my favorite parts of the day was something uniquely about Brad, the groom. He’s a kindergarten teacher, and as a surprise for guest, he had his students write “marriage advice” for the couple. During cocktail hour, guests spent time reading through the notes — sweet, funny, and pure little words of wisdom like “Always share your snacks” and “Go on dates.”
It was one of those small, beautiful touches that made the day feel deeply personal and full of warmth. You could feel the love not just between Halee and Brad, but surrounding them — from their families, their friends, and even his classroom of five-year-olds cheering them on from afar.
The Ceremony
Surrounded by towering palms and blooming tropical flowers, their ceremony felt intimate and heartfelt. Weddings and Wellness delivered a personal, emotional ceremony that captured the essence of their relationship — grounded in laughter, trust, and genuine care for one another.
There wasn’t a dry eye in the garden as the two exchanged vows beneath the golden light of the late afternoon sun.
The Celebration
As the sun set, the reception came alive with warm light, laughter, and music from Breezin Entertainment that kept the dance floor packed all night long. The tropical tones deepened into rich sunset hues, and every detail — from the tablescapes to the glowing candles — created a dreamlike atmosphere.
The team at Brooke and Co coordinated the day seamlessly, ensuring that every moment flowed naturally. I loved working alongside The Cupid Content, who captured all the in-between moments that made the day feel so alive.
